Title ESTIMATING SOIL EROSION HAZARD THROUGH RAINFALL ANALYSES IN THE N. E. INDIA
Author Name K. D. Sharma
Abstract

Although no systematic evaluation of the danger of soil erosion has been made in the northeast India, some indication of erosion hazard can be obtained from the climatic data, Splash erosion is correlated with mean annual erosivity which is related to the mean annual precipitation and gully erosion is correlated to the seasonal concentration of rainfall which is expressed by rainfall aggressiveness index. Depending on the severity of the problem the entire northeast India is categorised into the areas of severe, high and moderate erosion risks.
