Title WHEAT GRAIN MOISTURE REQUIREMENT UNDER AIRTIGHT STORAGE CONDITIONS
Author Name A.P. BHATNAGAR
Abstract

Losses in weight and infestation of wheat grains due to insects-that Were directly correlated with grain moisture and storage period-rapidly increased as the grain moisture exceeded 9 percent level. Percentage survival of insects had also a positive correlation with grain moisture. There was little breeding of insects in grains of 7 and 9 percent moisture content. Insects in order of causing less loss and damage to grains, and with decreasing percentage survival were T. granarium, S.oryzae and R. dominica.
