Title THRESHER PRINCIPLES CONFIRMED WITH A MULTI CROP THRESHER

Abstract

Thresher performance is influenced by the' variables of thresher adjustment, thresher design, crop material flow, and uniformity of conditions. The farmer user is interested in output capacity, power requirements, unthreshed, crackage, trash and losses. The engineer that evaluates threshers needs to interrelate the threshing vana bles of cylinder tip speed, unthreshed, crackage. Evaluation of cleaning requires interrelating air velocity with trash and losses. Both require known feed rates, crop, variety and grain moisture. Variable feed rates need to be related both to power consumption and losses. This paper discusses the above points towards the development of a Multi Crop Thresher. Data based on laboratory and field testing of the Multi Crop Thresher is also reported.
